On Friday January 27, 2012 Bay City Police Department Spokesperson Lt. Andrew Lewis reported that after a lengthy investigation by the Detective Division, 45 year old Michel W, Manahan from Bay City was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child and aggravated sexual assault of a child. Lewis said Manahan is currently in Matagorda County Jail with bond set at Hundred Thousand Dollars on each charge. Lewis said that investigation is continuing because there could be other victims. Lewis said Detective Maria Guajardo is heading up the investigation along with other investigators from other agencies.
On Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in the late afternoon Bay City Police were called to a home in the 3000 block of Wyatt Ave in reference to a female gunshot victim. Lewis said the female had an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The female was taken to Matagorda Regional Medical Center and later air-lifted to a hospital in Houston, Texas. Lewis said the investigation is continuing with Detective Corporal Richard Alvarado heading the investigation.
