The No Coal Coalition organized in 2009 to oppose the construction of the huge White Stallion coal/pet coke plant in Matagorda County. Our mission then, as now, is to protect Matagorda County’s land, air and water.

The NCC has taken no position on the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposal to designate Matagorda County as being in non-attainment for ozone. We want to hear more from the EPA and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality on this issue, to listen and learn about the significance of the plan.

We know that White Stallion would cause irreversible damage to our county’s land, air and water – and we oppose it. We have no position on non-attainment.
